Kungfu Tea @ New World Mall, Flushing, Queens, New York, United States

Battle of Beverages

Today, we decided to have a show down of the beverages whilst enjoying the effects of Thanksgiving holidays. For the last couple of weeks, we have been trying the different brands of bubble tea in New York City. Today is another new brand we have been waiting to try.

Kungfu Tea has mushroomed in the United States in the recent years. Kung Fu Tea has about 20 stores in New York City. An observation was that Kung Fu Tea allowed customers to indicate their sugar level preferences. There were four sugar levels starting from 0 to 100.

For the four beverages, we spent a total of USD17.50, which was USD4.50 per cup.

From left: KF Milk Tea, KF Original WOW Milk, Taro Slush and Longan Red Date Tea.

KF Milk Tea (功夫奶茶) was very sweet at 100 percent sugar level. I actually forgot to inform the cashier about the sugar level. Now, I have to drink a super sweet beverage and will wait for the ice cubes in the cup to melt. Ignoring the sweetness level, I enjoyed the tea. The milk was rich as if cream milk were being used. The glutinous balls (bubbles) were big and subtly hard. The bubbles seemed to be a little uncooked. (Food rating: 2.5/5)

KF Original WOW Milk (青蛙撞奶) comprised fresh milk and bubbles soaked in brown sugar. It was appropriate for people who did not like tea but want to drink bubble milk "tea". Unlike the bubbles in the milk tea, the bubbles in this beverage were more fragrant. The bubbles were soaked in the thick brown sugar syrup that every chew was enjoyable. The texture of the bubbles were better and more chewy. (Food rating: 2.5/5)

Taro Slush was actually yam smoothie. The  yam smoothie was very fragrant and fragrant. It was extremely enjoyable. (Food rating: 3.5/5)

Longan Red Date Tea (桂圆红枣茶) was ordinary, yet refreshing. The beverage was a traditional beverage among the Chinese for overall good health. (Food rating: 2.5/5)
