Corner 28, Flushing, Queens, New York, United States (Food rating: 2/5)

From our last blog post, we tried the Peking Duck Steamed Bun which was delicious. So, we decided to try their main dishes for dinner.
We ordered a portion to Minced Dried Scallops with Egg White (金典银炒饭) to go (takeaway). Corner 28 - Chinese Restaurant used to occupy at the corner of 40th Road along Main Street, Flushing Queens. Recently, the restaurant moved a few units away from Main Street along 40th Road. It was still very popular and there were always many customers in the narrow restaurant.

This fried rice had two different prices which was dependent on the time of order. The same fried rice cost USD7.95 at lunch time and USD12.95 at dinner time.

The fried rice was a disappointment. The rice was dry and soggy. Though the rice was cooked with crab meat, egg white, dried scallops and pine nuts, the fried rice was bland. It also lack fragrance from hot wok. (Food rating: 2/5)

I ordered the same fried rice seven years ago and the food was excellent. This time, the fried rice was bland and not up to par. A good excuse was the chef was replaced within the last seven years.
