Tsukada Nojo (塚田農場), Singapore

I met my friends over dinner at Tsukada Nojo. Tsukada Nojo is popular for its Bijiin Nabe. Bijiin Nabe, also known as "Beauty Hotpot", consist of special collagen jelly stock and a variety of vegetables, pork, chicken and prawns at SGD25 per pax. Tsukada Nojo is usually crowded at Plaza Singapura outlet. Luckily the outlet at Westgate was still manageable.
We also ordered a variety of side orders. The service at the restaurant was warm and friendly. The staff were attentive to our needs. As first timers, we were given a loyalty card at our next visit.

The entire dining experience was fantastic and new. We spent about SGD100 for 3 pax. The only negative about the place was that the table was a little too small for us. The table could not hold the side dishes and hotpot/ steamboat altogether.

Nikumaki Onigiri with Cheese is melted cheese on Nikumaki. Nikumaki is a modern type of onigiri which means meat roll. This was indeed a new type of onigiri. I loved the sushi rice and how the meat wrapped over it. The thick layer of melted cheese laid over the meat roll added the extra oomph to the side dish. (Food rating: 4/5)

Once the collagen jelly is melted, the rest of the ingredients of chicken, prawns, pork and vegetables were put into the pot. The Bijiin Nabe has a rich in taste and with collagen. The soup was absolutely delicious and after all the ingredients were finished. We ate with the noodles we ordered with the remaining soup. The entire soup was a soup, soup-based for the hotpot and a base for the noodles. How cool is that! (Food rating: 4.5/5)

Coriander and Bean Sprout Salad comprises of fresh coriander, bean sprout and Daikon with Japanese Shoyu dressing. This is the first time I ever ate fresh coriander as salad. However, the entire salad mix was unique and yet delicious. I could not imagine myself eating so many coriander at one time. (Food rating: 4/5)

Miyazaki Specialty Chicken Nanban is a traditional chicken dish in Miyazaki. It is served with the restaurant's homemade tartar sauce. We ordered the original that came with mild sweet-sour Miyazaki style. The chicken chunks were tender and juicy. The unique tartar sauce was delicious. (Food rating: 4/5)
