Mr Bartley Cottage Burger, Boston, United States

Highly recommended by my Professor, I yearned to try Bartley's Gourmet burgers since the last two trips to Cambridge, Boston. It was shared that it was THE place to go when you were in Cambridge. The restaurant, famous for its burgers and rowdiness, had long queue lines all year round. I could hear servers shouting their orders to the cooks.

I tried to dine at the restaurant a couple of times in Summer but the queue lines were snake long. It was also very crowded in Summer. Last winter (January), I finally had the opportunity to dine at Bartley's. Queuing outside the restaurant on a winter day was a challenge. The cold, icy winds were blowing mercilessly at you. Luckily the queue line was rather short. Very soon, we were greeted by one of the staff sitting outside the restaurant. He gave out the menu and took our orders.
Together with my mum and friend S, we ordered The Joe Kennedy II, the iPhone, sweet potato fries and a Caesar Salad. The food arrived in large portions. Mum and I shared the Joe Kennedy burger. My, I must say that the burger was delicious. The beef patty was juicy and moist. S gave me a sampler of iPhone burger. It was equally delicious. Most importantly, when the sweet potato fries arrived, none of us could stop grabbing a couple of sticks into our mouths. The spiciness was just about right. It was a hearty meal.

The size of the restaurant was small but people came in throngs. And the turnover was extremely high. To tell you the truth, this is INDEED a place to have burgers.

The Joe Kennedy III (photo above) burger was a liberal amount of burger with cheddar cheese, grilled mushroom and fries. The beef patty was thick and moist. Loved the grilled cheese, it was divinely grilled. As for the fries, it is just fries. This burger was superb!

The iPhone has bousin cheese, grilled mushroom and onion ring, and sweet potato fries. I liked the patty that went great with the mushroom and onion ring. However, you would find that the sheer size would be best shared. I could not finished the burger alone. (Food rating: 4/5)

Caesar salad, though it tasted great, it was just ordinary.

Loved the sweet potato fries. Unlike the conventional fries, it had a taste of sweetness. Coupled with the chilli powder or Cajun powder, it created an extra 'oomph'. It was extremely additive that I even searched online to get recipes to bake at home. The sweet potatoes has high nutritional value and good for our skin. (Food rating: 5/5)
